From Zero to boardMatic

Every product starts with a problem. For me, that problem was simple: our dealership’s old chit board system didn’t keep up.

I wanted a way to modernize it without adding complexity — something simple, digital, and reliable.

At first, I reached for the cheapest tool I could find: a $55 Raspberry Pi Zero 2W Starter Kit. It worked. It got a digital chit board up and running. But every new feature required another workaround. The hardware was fragile, the software was clunky, and it became clear: “good enough” wasn’t good enough.

That’s when boardMatic was born.

I upgraded to more advanced hardware, added proper cooling, and focused on turning the idea into a product — not just a hack. The first boardMatic unit was built to be an appliance: something you could plug in and trust to run every single day, without tinkering.

That philosophy still drives us. boardMatic isn’t just a digital whiteboard. It’s a purpose-built, appliance-grade system designed to make dealership operations smoother and more transparent — with no subscriptions, no IT headaches, and no workarounds.
